Bitpalace backups all your files, mails, databases and configurations daily. Beyond these backups you can create your own scheduled automatic backups and snapshot backups of your web space account. We recommend to store backups on external servers, e.g. an external FTP storage space on a different server.

It is important that you always keep a copy of your own data with you. Never rely on a data backup that only takes place on your own server or by us in the data center. You are solely responsible for your data. Also according to the contract and terms and conditions.

How to create a single backup:

1. Login to your web space’s customer control panel.

2. Click on the “Account” tab.

3. Click on the “Back Up Websites” icon.

You have started the Backup Manager and can configure it as you require. For example you can configure an external FTP storage space with the “FTP Storage Settings”. You can use the “Schedule” icon to create scheduled automatic backups.

4. When you are ready for a backup, click on “Back Up”. Choose what you want to store and where to store it. Click “OK” when the back up process shall start. The time a backup needs depends on the size of the files that need to be backed up. You can continue working with your web space, receiving and sending e-mails while the backup proceeds.
